One of the things that I hate when I'm in Malaysia is the Malaysians behaviour (generally). From the aspect of cleanliness, ethics in business, till to the ethics on the road, I hate them all. Why they are just so rude?
I dont know why Malaysians do not know how to keep their city clean. The buildings, roads, etc full of rubbish. If I want to compare it with Melbourne, omg, it's way too different. Why is that so? They just do not have the responsibility. They dont feel guilty at all throwing rubbish everywhere they wish. Is that what we call first class mentality? Or actually we still in third class mentality? Are we that bad?
2. Ethics in bussiness
This subtopic is so much to talk about.
i) Cab fees
The taxi driver likes to charge whatever they like, sometimes the fees doesnt make sense at all! They got meter to use, but I think it just there to fulfill the requirement from the government, in very seldom occasion i've seen they use it.
I hate services in Malaysia. Is that so hard to smile to the customer? Is that so hard to greet the customer? And even it is that hard, fine, but can u not rolling ur eyes in front of the customer? And I don't understand why pizza hutt's workers are allowed to wear flip-flop during working hours. It's so unprofessional. There was one time, I went to a restaurant, the workers saw us (me and others) coming, but they just continued watching TV. It has been 15 minutes, they ignored us. Is that the professionalism in bussiness?
3. Ethics on road
I just don't understand what is the use of the zebra crossing if the pedestrian need to wait until the road is clear with vehicles then s/he can cross the road. It's so rude,u know. Only if they know how behave the drivers in overseas, or shall i say in Melbourne once again? (because I live there currently, and I believe there a lot of cities like that too). If u wanna cross the road using zebra crossing in Melbourne, u'll like u are some kind of VIP, where all the vehicles stop, just giving u way to cross, but yeah that the way it supposed to be. What happens to Malaysians?
When I talk to some friends about these, they said something like, "ala, biase la tu", "org Malaysia mmg mcm tu", "macam xbiasa pulak kau ni". Yeah, we always say like that coz it's so common around us. But if we dont have effort to change our 'good' behaviour, no wonder we are still in third world contries with third-world class mentality. How long we want to take to change?
p/s: Err..I'm a Malaysian too!
